Records show that the Marcos administration built more roads, bridges and irrigation facilities during its first four years than any administration in the past. In 1965, the country’s road network comprised a mere 55,778 kilometers and in 1985, this reaches 161,000 kilometers. Constructed irrigation which resulted in a substantial increased in farmer’s harvest and income.
Massive infrastructure projects were undertaken in every corner of the country. Works were done at the 24-hour basis with the supervision of the high-caliber engineers of the country and close monitoring by President Marcos and the First Lady Imelda R. Marcos.
