Philippine Refugee and Processing Center

Mrs. Marcos spearheaded government efforts in creating a new satellite community in Morong, Bataan for the so-called “boat people,” most of them refugees who fled the Indochinese peninsula in search of freedom.  The Center is a vast complex with complete facilities ti accommodate as many as 20,000 refugees who live in the community while awaiting resettlement in some other country.  The PRPC which answers the most elemental need of human survival is a testament of Filipino compassion.  It was built by the Philippine government with support from other nations.
